NYU organizes a seminar about Data mining and the Semantic web on Tuesday July 10th betwen 4-6pm at their Midtown Centre.

The essential differences and similarities of data mining and the semantic Web are explained and then the following areas are presented in greater detai

  • Data mining: the focus is on the algorithms that are vital for success. These include neural networks, decision trees, rule induction, and memory-based reasoning.
  • Semantic Web: the various essential tools and concepts are presented. These include XML, RDF, ontology languages, and trust.
