Google’s new privacy policy. What a joke!

After Google got in trouble for the way they handle privacy issues, they decided to change their cookie policy:

“In the coming months, Google will start issuing our users cookies that will be set to auto-expire after 2 years, while auto-renewing the cookies of active users during this time period. In other words, users who do not return to Google will have their cookies auto-expire after 2 years. Regular Google users will have their cookies auto-renew, so that their preferences are not lost. And, as always, all users will still be able to control their cookies at any time via their browsers. ”

This means, that every time you visit Google, your cookies will be stored for another 2 years. Is there anybody out there that doesn’t visit Google within 2 years?

I think this is one of the biggest jokes in Google’s history.

  1. miro Says:

what is more concerning is the concentration of power that google will enjoy
cookies are readily dealt with via many common methods

if we had this kind of media concentration - everyone would be up in arms
but for some reason the internet doesnt count

    while i mention the internet

why is it that the i in internet is capitalized in spell checks like a proper name???
