The algorithm killed Jeeves

This weekend I went to Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. I tried not to use or think about web anlytics, SEO or SEM, but unfortunately my intention lastet about 30 min when a similiar billboard (via Valleywag.com) to this one popped up:

Algorithm killed Jeeves

My first thought was “Google”! My second one “Ask”, but I wasn’t sure about it until now.

Anyways…one billboard would not be too bad, but about 48 hours later on the way back to New York, I passed the Unica headquarter while driving on the Masspike (I90-West). Not to mention all the software companies, that are located in Framingham , Norfolk and Stamford.
I guess for my next weekend trip I will hang out in Second Life fly out to the carribean.

Wow, that’s weird. I’ve seen two such boards, one in Jersey, one in New York. One said “The Algorithm Killed Jeeves” (Jersey), the other said “The Algorithm Came From Jersey”(New York).

I looked it up, and apparently there is a THIRD! “The Algorithm Is Banned In China.” Never seen it though…
